"I first came across the work of 'Sporophore' live in at a Solstice Party 2012 somewhere in Essex. I was enchanted by the high vibrational, crystaline pads and arpeggios. Now after his debut stand alone release 'Lifeforms' available on Parabola Music comes this ep.

Three tracks, opening with 'Cosmic Dance' which has a similar musiciallity to 'Arcadia Magik' by 'Prometheus'. A mid-tempo track encapsulating the Teutonic synth work of the mid/late 70's, Tangerine Dream and Klaus Schulze when they were less abstract and ethereal.

Setting the scene 'Light Years from Home' kicks in almost immediately with it's subtle octave shifting bassline and those crystaline sound like tiny glass orbs reverberating in another cosmic realm, very much of another dimension, it also builds effectively, as all great Psy Trance should and really takes you on journey. Great music should paint pictures in your head, even if they are abstract ones.

Finally 'Slow Light' starts with truncated vocal ahs, as a distant electronic heartbeat moves into focus, a punchy mid tempo throb of bass line and cyclical, strangely hollow but organic. Another great psychedelic release, hypnotic and worthy or repeated listens."
